Summary/Abstract: The article scientifically substantiates the artistic challenges posed in the outstanding Russian composer and music – theoretician I. V. Matsiewski’s creativity. The features of wind instruments interpretation in I. V. Matsiewski’s scientific works and application of folk wind instruments in the music for the films “The Tree of Eternity”, “Pharaoh”, “Sochinushki” and “Believe It” are discovered. It is proved that the use of ethnic wind instruments in I. V. Matsiewski’s music gives them a special semantic and dramaturgical value, contributes to the product becoming a multicultural text.
