Summary/Abstract: The author characterizes legal background dated to 21.12.2007 when Slovak republic became a member, together with other countries, of Schengen area. The legal framework, valid nowadays is followed. The next part is dealing with Schengen information system and national unit SIRENE content. An attention is given separately to information included in the system, how long they can be warehoused and name the institution, they are taking supervision under the system in the relation to the personal data and who is authorized to access the date, sourcing from the Schengen acquis.
