Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the last chapter of nine centuries-long Muslim history on the Iberian Peninsula, which ended by the expulsion of some three hundred thousand Muslims 1609-1614. In the time of renewed debates about which religion is 'domestic' in Europe and which one is the 'guest', the research in this episode of failed coexistence of Christians and Muslims on European soil has not only historical but also a cultural significance for our time.
