Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the philosophical novel Hayy b. Yaqzan by a famous Muslim philosopher Ibn Tufayl. The first part briefly presents the philosophical tendencies in Muslim Spain during the 13th century, and then biography and work of Ibn Tufayl.
