The Chanted Word of God

Summary/Abstract: We present reasons and suggest the possibilities of using modern Serbian language in everyday worship, especially when it comes to chanting. The work is directed towards a clearer understanding of the Word of God in worship, overcoming the role of a passive layman in worship and reducing the separation between the Church (spiritual) and everyday (worldly), sacred and profane in our society. In this direction, examples of Parastos in contemporary Serbian language are suggested.
