Summary/Abstract: Sinai has always been a sacred place where people could feel God’s presence, because Moses received the Law from the Lord. Therefore, the Jews always Sinai as a sacred place, and what they will do and Christians. Already in the 3rd century Christians settled in the peninsula, but will eventually become a monastic settlement. From the 4th to the 6th century monks in Sinai is intensively developed and organized, but the problems existing among the monks increasingly frequent. About the life of monks in Sinai from the 4th to the 6th century, and the problems, write Eterij, Nile Sinai, John Moss and John Climacus, who were witnesses of early monasticism on this peninsula.
