PROJECT "ISLAMIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE": THE BASIC IDEA, DEVELOPMENT AND CURRENT STATUS

Summary/Abstract: In terms of the development of civilization Muslims have stagnated for several centuries and lag behind the advanced part of the world. According to some Muslim intellectual elite, the way out of the current crisis is "Islamization of knowledge", i.e. critical examination of theoretical axioms and achievements of modern social and humanistic science in the light of the claims of Islamic epistemology and ethics as well as the synthesis of Revelation and rational thinking. That meaningful general theory of knowledge is necessary to disseminate, continuously check and improve at the specifically established universities. Only in this process occurred knowledge can awaken the Ummah from its current lethargy and activate and unleash their latent spiritual, psychological and social potential. Islamization project has managed to animate a part of Muslim intellectual elite to look for a solution to the current weakness of the Ummah, to design for this purpose a theoretical framework and action plan and build a more than a solid infrastructure basis for its realization.
