Summary/Abstract: The paper distinguishes three meanings of induction in Brentano’s psychology: incomplete induction, induction in the narrow sense and induction in the broad sense. Against this background it argues that the way Chisholm understands Brentano’s induction in the broad sense is not correct, because he interprets it starting from Johnson’s concept of „intuitive induction”. The paper sets forth arguments why this interpretation does not hold.
