Summary/Abstract: Contemporary orientations in the renewal of religious discourse are based on several basic prerequisites. Namely, it is necessary for the persons engaged in the renewal of religious discourse to possess the ability to reason freely (ijtihād) and work creatively, to be moderate in thought, to accept the other and the different, to be ready for coexistence in good will and respect, without hurting others’ feelings, thoughts and directions, to be capable of conducting meaningful dialogue which seeks to overcome rational logic and to accept its outcome. Pedagogical prerequisites for the renewal of religious discourse also include: preparing missionaries (dāʽīs), equipping them scientifically and educationally with what is in accordance with their responsibility for religious discourse, attaining a comprehensive excellence in higher education at universities which are concerned with religious discourse.
