Lingvistička arabistika u radovima Mesuda Hafizovića
Linguistic Arabic Studies in the works of Mesud Hafizović

Summary/Abstract: This article is thematically related to the recently published work by the same author (“Arabic Philology in the works of Mesud Hafizović”, Zbornik radova Fakulteta islamskih nauka, no. 21, Sarajevo, 2017.) which offers an analysis of the thematically closely linked articles by Mesud Hafizović, published in six issues of the Zbornik. In contrast to those articles, which are firmly linked by the cognate character of their titles and content, Hafizović’s articles analysed in this review are mutually related only through a wider scope as covered by the term Arabic linguistics. These articles overcome the breadth of geographical and ethnic differences of places and communities which pertain to the themes addressed and the large number of publications in which they were published. Given that Mesud Hafizović has analysed remarkably variant issues, the term Arabic studies in the title of this work is used to cover all of its disparate meanings, while the accompanying attribute linguistic serves the purpose of reducing the contents of his work to what pertains to Arabic language and literature in Arabic studies. At the same time the term excludes numerous areas of study linked to Islamic civilization which are identifiable as the subject of the majority of the remaining works, which Hafizović published in many publications that have been issued by educational institutions of the Islamic Community in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
