SERMON AT THE FEAST OF THE HOLY THREE HIERARCHS

Summary/Abstract: The Holy Three Hierarchs, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom, whose homage we celebrate on January 30, are more teachers and stars among the stars of our Church, which dominates the entire history and Christian thought of the fourth century and until today. For their many teachings, for their untiring zeal in promoting and defending the true faith against the heresies of the time in which they lived, for their exemplary life lived in the world and for the salvation of the world, through the righteous Church, they were worthy of great and chosen honor. contemporary Christians with them and those after them, their spiritual prestige amplifying even more after their departure from this world. The veneration of these saints of the universal Church has remained unchanged in the Church to this day, as the only bearers of the nickname “Great teachers of the world and hierarchs” received at the time when the Byzantine faithful ruled in Constantinople.
