How to create theatre in tandem

On the experience of two projects of experimental theatre staged by the Tandem Group

Summary/Abstract: Ramóna Gecse took part as an actor and a creator of theatre in two plays, staged in Miercurea Ciuc by the Tandem Group, in the summer of 2012 and 2013. The Tandem group, initiated by young Transylvanian and extra-Transylvanian Hungarian theatremakers, applied a concept of the theatre, a creative method and an aesthetics which is different to the framework of the traditions of theatre-making which are dominant in the Hungarian theatres from Romania. The new fashion of space-usage, which targeted the spaces within the city, the happening-like fashion of the performances, using several artistic forms, rewrote the ways of interacting between the actors and spectators too. The essay of Ramóna Gecse sums up the lessons she could draw from these two projects.
