Summary/Abstract: The moment of The Land of Smiles. Power and institutional models at the formation of the Székely Színház (Szekler Theatre). Ildikó Ungvári Zrínyi analyses the lines of force identifiable at the time of the foundation of the Székely Színház (Szekler Theatre) in Târgu-Mureș. The analysis is carried out with the means of the information available in the different layers of the public sphere, related to the wrangling around the establishment of the theatre, presenting at the same time the vernacular theatrical culture of the city. It is on this culture that the new institutional model of theatre, elaborated by János Kemény, is based.
