Summary/Abstract: Introduction: A number of studies of the most common errors of analytical processes in laboratory medicine show that most of them are in the pre-analytical stage. This fact has led to an increase in the attention of workers on the problem.O 'Kane points out that 80-90% of medical diagnoses are made on the basis of laboratory tests. The curriculum at the Medical College at the Thraka University - Stara Zagora has been updated and brought in line with medical standards in the respective disciplines. The training of medical laboratory technicians is consistent with their participation in all stages of the laboratory process and the high requirements for the work of laboratories.Purpose: To draw conclusions about the students' self-assessment of the quality of the acquired knowledge about the errors in the pre-analytical stage of the laboratory tests, and the observance of the rules during the clinical practice and the undergraduate internship.Materials and methods: a direct group survey was conducted among first, second and third year students. The results were processed using the STATISTICA, statistical analysis package. Results: 89.85% of the students claim that the knowledge they receive in the process of training for the pre-analytical stage satisfies them. The observance of the standard procedures for taking, transport and storage of biological materials in the laboratories, according to 83.76% of the students are observed (64.64% categorically Yes and 19.12% Rather yes). 77.94% of the respondents are fully aware of the importance of laboratory assistants in the pre-analytical stage. Conclusions: The share of students who are aware of their role as future specialists in the laboratories, including in the pre-analytical stage of the analyzes, is high. They are observant and apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the College, which they consider sufficient.
