Summary/Abstract: The non-contentious proceedings are a special type of civil proceedings in which courts or other bodies or public officials proceed and decide in personal, family, property, and other legal matters (non-contentious matters) that are to be decided in a non- contentious proceeding, as provided by the law. Due to the specificity of the non-contentious matters in each national civil procedural system, the non-contentious proceedings is regulated separately according to the needs. Precisely because of this, there are no universal (typical) non-contentious proceedings. However, despite the national legal variations in the regulation of non-contentious proceedings, if the non-contentious proceedings are analyzed at a macro level in the Romanian, German and Scandinavian circles of the civil law system, one can notice that each of these process circles shows particularities. Precisely because of this, the subject of this paper will be the non-contentious proceedings in the civil law system and the future directions its development.
