Odyssey of Contemporary Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Summary/Abstract: Three aspects of psychoanalytic theory and technique provide a firm reliable protection of the child psychotherapist against dominant preoccupation with symptom, against incorrect psychotherapy indication and choice of an inappropriate technique. These are developmental perspective of the child and his/her difficulty, aiming the course of psychotherapy at deepening understanding, and holistic approach to the child. Clinical case studies are described to illustrate these threats and their solutions.
