Summary/Abstract: The study deals with explication of the historical bases of institutionalized pre-school education by the prominent German pedagogue Friedrich Fröbel. In the historical context, it describes and reveals aspects of founding of kindergartens and presents eminent ideas that have changed the view of childhood and the importance of strategic education of preschool children in facilities with this educational program, including didactic tools used in play. It examines the penetration and timeliness of Fröbel's pedagogical system of children upbringing and education, which is realized by a play focused on working with his didactic material and recognizes the value of his system for today's pre-primary education.
