Providing of Social Counselling for Families in Divorce Situation in State Administration Institutions

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to analyze the possibilities of providing social counseling to families in divorce situation in selected institutions in Slovakia – at the Offices of Labor, Social Affairs and Family and in the Centers for Children and Family. In the introduction, the author analyzes the statistical indicators of divorce in Slovakia, then defines divorce as a subject of social counseling through the compilation of knowledge of several authors. The next part of the paper deals with the analysis of the activities of the children's guardian as an organ of socio-legal protection of children and social care, and a social worker performing field and outpatient social work in the Center for Children and Families, who provide professional intervention for families in divorce situation.
