Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of the Jewish issue, which is absent from the Tatarka’s discourse. Based on the novel Clerical Republic (Farská republika), the author of the article focuses on analyzing the way Tatarka shows the defence practices used by the Jewish community, as well as the exclusionary actions arising from the anti-Semitic policy of President Tiso’s government during the first two years of the Slovak State’s existence (1939–1941). The article also takes into account the historical context.
