New directions in the statistical survey methodology

Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the present question "how we can investigate changes effectively, reliably and punctually, using existing methodological solutions, in condition of the new IC development trends, world economy globalisation as well as climatic changes?". A complexity of socio-economic as well as ecologic processes causes increased needs of survey processes and of the methods used. The main question is how to investigate to receive a complex knowledge on the surveyed phenomenon. The article presents the current trends in subjects and survey methods used by both Eurostat and CSO (GUS) as well as the relationship of the methodology with statistical survey phases and the data quality, general recommendations concerning methodological description improvement in statistical publications and their role to identify good practices as well as some examples of methodological trends in the statistical survey integration and general direction of methodological unit activities. The creation of the methodology as a tool of the efficient management in statistics results from the study. It leads to creation of high quality statistics for the knowledge based society.
