Summary/Abstract: This study attempts to explain the role played by the Third Age Academy in Olsztyn in preserving the national, cultural and religious identity of Poles living in the country and abroad. This goal is served by, among others, annual European Integration Meetings of Polish Universities of the Third Age from beyond the eastern border, organized for 13 years in Olsztyn. The article presents a historical outline of meetings and activities, thanks to which there is a chance to build local and active civil societies.
