Summary/Abstract: In 2019, the “Bukovina” Institute of the Romanian Academy organized two scientific events with international participation. The first one was the scientific colloquium “Bukovina and the Bukovinians in the 20th century. Identity and Alterity”. It was initiated by the “Bukovina” Institute and organized in collaboration with the “Yuriy Fedkovych” National University of Chernivtsi and the local Centre for Romanian Studies. The colloquium took place in Chernivtsi on June 8, 2019. The papers, which referred to various aspects of the history and culture of Bukovina, were presented by Romanian and Ukrainian university professors and researchers.The second event of the year 2019 was the international scientific conference “Bukovina – Identity and Transformation. Built Patrimony and Cultural Landscape”. It was the 27th annual conference of the “Bukovina” Institute and took place in Suceava and Rădăuți, between the 3rd and the 5th of October 2019. The event was organized in collaboration with the District Council and the “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava. On the first day of the conference in Suceava, there were presented and discussed aspects and problems concerning the protection of built patrimony in the southern region of Bukovina. The second part of the conference took place in Rădăuți, where researchers and university professors from Poland (Warshaw and Zielona Góra), Ukraine (Chernivtsi) and Romania (Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Rădăuți and Câmpulung Moldovenesc) presented a number of 29 papers on various (and several new) topics.
