Future Film Directors Face-to-Face with Young Audiences

Summary/Abstract: UNATC’s film productions andfilm students are usually presented toa specialized audience, the audience offestivals. „Sun Flower“ and „UNATC JuniorCaravan“ are two projects that managedto put in touch high school students withshort films and with their creators. The highschool students and the filmmakers are partof the same generation and it is very likelythat most of their interests are common.This is the most important link that an audience could have with art and young artists/creators. They are the kind of people that will be interested in the future movies of these young filmmakers. But for this to happen, they will have to be made aware that these kinds of films exist. And, on the other side, this is the perfect way for a young filmmaker to become aware of the impact of his/her movies have, the adolescent’s reaction being genuine. They also have opportunities for explaining to high schools students what filmmaking is and sharing from their film experience and reflecting on this inspired crossing. The results of these meetings include making cultural projects available to a larger audience and highlighting artistic careers as worth pursuing to a larger spectrum of young individuals.
