Summary/Abstract: The need for dance research from a sociological perspective is a consequence of the development of the highly industrialized contemporary societies, but also of the intensification of continental migration. Consequently, the 21st century requires the development of new methods of analysis of dance, as a social phenomenon, but also of body movement, as a means of communication and nonverbal expression. The difficulties, inherent in any research approach, are rather in terms of analysis tools, given the way in which the expression of dance-specific communication is articulated.
