Summary/Abstract: The issues connected with human are one of topics realized in the foreign language teaching process. The lexical base of content stated above give mainly textbooks. A wide source of language, which is used in the didactic are in addition bilingual dictionaries.In the article was showed extent and kind of lingual units designed for description of human that are registered in Duży szkolny słownik polsko-niemiecki PONS (Large polish-german school dictionary PONS) – one of the most extensive learners’ dictionaries. Because of a wide range of researched material nouns were analyzed, which refer to appearance and internal psychical structure of the man determining his liking, behavior and relationship with others.Lingual units contained in the studied dictionary show feature of dichotomy with domination of negative names. The picture of human created on this material - because of a wide perspective of points, which are not socially approved – is not completely in agreement with at school promoted attitudes towards others.
