Summary/Abstract: Thanks to the literacy of peasants, already during the First World War there was a rich correspondence between soldiers who fought on the front lines and their loved ones. The study is an example from North Bacska, from the distant settlement of Kishomok and how the Rövid family maintained close relationships. During the four years of the war, the young men of the family maintained a relationship through correspondence not only with their own home, but also through letters-maintained contact with each other. The letters reported not only their position and the environment in which they were located, but also the main events at the battlefield. At the same time, family members of the torn-off family reported on the difficulties they faced in cultivating the land.
