Summary/Abstract: “The man with the hammer” was a serial killer who terrorized the inhabitants of Cluj-Napoca between 1972 and 1973. He killed female victims with various methods: drowning, ax hitting, stabbing and strangulation. He attacked the victims who were alone in their own homes, setting fire to their homes several times. He had intimate relations with several victims. He sustained that Satan ordered him to kill the victims, receiving various orders from Satan related to the manner and means of committing the murders. He suffered from schizophrenia, which is the reason why he was not convicted by the court which ordered his medical hospitalization under supervision.
