Summary/Abstract: In this paper, an analysis of selected issues related to comparative formations occurring in utterances by Andrzej Kostyra, a sports journalist, are presented. Simple and then complex comparatives have been analysed. As regards the semantic analysis, semantic fields of comparative components have been presented and their functions have been identified and assessed subjectively.
