Summary/Abstract: Subject: Metal rattles found in Finland dating back to the middle and late Iron Age. Purpose of study: To document and classify the rattles and test them as sound-producing devices. To shed light on the Iron Age soundscape and ideas of music-making. Methods: Multivariable analysis, elementary analysis, sound analysis, contextual archaeological methods.
