Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of analytical reading at a non-linguistic university. The author considers this reading as one of the main forms while working with the text. She does not agree with the interpretation of analytical reading where this method of reading is turned into special analytical exercises. The aim and the main task of this reading is to help students develop their reading skills so that they could cope with any difficulty understanding the text. The article provides a thorough analysis of the methods of analytical reading and presents practical recommendations. In the author’s opinion, this paper could be good for practical purposes.
