Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the structure of the Russian religious press, placingit on the media market. The author, referring to the relevant literature, dividesreligious publications according to the three main criteria: (1) the holder (i.e. thepublications produced by the Moscow Patriarchate, dioceses, congregations,churches and parishes, as well as seminaries and academies); (2) the level ofreligious engagement of the target audience (i.e. the periodicals addressed eitherto believers and active participants of religious life, or, on the contrary, the onessearching for a religion and full of religious doubt); and (3) the age and familystatus of the target audience (i.e. family journals, children’s and youth journals,and publications for students). The present article in detail discusses the selectedpublications representing each of the three groups.
