Summary/Abstract: I would like to talk about Zbigniew Herbert as a Poet and as Autor essays of art also and together (the volumen Martwa natura z wędzidłem particulary – present the essays on Dutch Golden Age painting). On the all types of his works he`s spoken about morality, rationalism and Beauty. Always. We can reflect upon problems “old age” and “death” in his creation absent. Why? Because in these category there are nothing with “pretty” and no “ratio” indeed. This part of Herberts idea there are similiar to Rene Descartes programme: we can not translate “the world as a univers” (and understand it), while we use mechanical law to do it. Herbert as a moralist show us direction to use morality (in such categories as Beauty, Form, Proportions). It`s similar ars moriendi in Middle Ages. Only at 80, when his dream on fatherland was run away, he demonstrate his own opinion about the both category. Now he must to agree with Nature – with “death” and “old age” also. But he do it like Blaise Pascal in his moralphilosophy.
