Summary/Abstract: More recently, the threat to the national identity is accompanied by economic considerations and the effects of extensive migration also to Eastern Europe for which we are probably not yet ready. The historical identity of the continent is precarious in the conditions in which Islamism gives off, offensive.In order to strengthen the European identity, it is possible to make crucial encouragements – not only through the message of solidarity, but also through actions that redefine populist messages, the concept of tolerance, with more emphasis on the idea of continental security.
