Summary/Abstract: The 21st century brought new challenges for companies industries and countries. Success in such turbulent times is dependent on new perspectives on competitiveness. Thus, in an economy characterized by increasing competition, competitiveness becomes a prerequisite for the existence of firms. Competitiveness has always been an issue for discussion that’s why this study is intended to conceptualize the competitiveness of firms and the way this is influenced by internal and external factors as well as to survey the literature in order to find the concentrations of this subject.
