Summary/Abstract: RIGA, Latvia--It must be one of the worst starts in government any cabinet has ever made. For Latvia’s new coalition government, there has been no 100-day grace period, but instead a long, steep drop in popularity. Indeed, Prime Minister Einars Repse has seen his personal ratings fall almost through the floor, from 44.2 points in December to 2.9 in late January (on a scale of 100 to –100).
