Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the main international legal instruments of biological weapons, including the Geneva Protocol of 1925, the Australian Group, the UN Secretary-General's mechanism for investigation of alleged use of biological weapons and the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons. It is proposed to strengthen the Convention on the more effective regulation of research and development of biological agents for peaceful purposes.
