Summary/Abstract: The development and contemporary contributions to the theory of entrepre- neurship are scatched in the paper. Special attention is payed to the development of entrepreneurship in the process of transition. The development of entrepreneurship is analyzed in relation to the institutional framework of the transition economies. It is indicated in the paper that entrepreneurship is interdependent with the development of the market economy institutions.
