Greek-latin influences on the German Culture

Summary/Abstract: The following article aims to underline the value of the Greek culture along the time and its influence on the German culture by means of personal observations, visits in different museums of the world, guides or books. There are presented different antique Greek influences on the German culture in the 18th century, on philosophy, art history, and literature. We allocate a special place to the Pergamonmuseum of Berlin, which shows again the interests of the Germans for the Greek culture. The contribution of the famous German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann is mentioned together with some facts about his life and career, as presented in its autobiography: Ithaca, the Peloponnese, and Troy.
