Summary/Abstract: The issue of the birth of artistic revolution, of literary avant-garde, in two peripheral countries, Romania and Serbia, will result in creating an image of the initiator of the movement in both cultural spaces. Prefiguration of the avant-garde in Urmuz’s and Ćurčin’s writtings had similar effect in both literatures – it created the myth of the precursor, inaugurating the idea of fatherhood of new way of thinking and expression, drew a portrait of the visionary who announced the emancipation from old constraining artistic expresions; also, some diferences can be seen in perception of these two percursori by their artistic descendants.
