Summary/Abstract: The difficult period generated by the COVID-19 pandemic may lead to exacerbation of pre-existing risks, namely the vulnerabilities of children, families and communities, through limited access to social services, health, inequalities in access to education, poverty. This difficult period can be a triggering factor and "conducive" to the development of abusive behavior on the child, in the family, by the family. This article addresses the social issues of various forms of child abuse, trying to provide answers to certain questions: the COVID-19 pandemic is a period that accentuates the development of abusive behavior, are these cases isolated or are we dealing with a real phenomenon; there is a social environment that favors such behavior; how children and staff in residential centers feel about the period of isolation; the psycho-social impact generated by the global pandemic context at the level of the South Muntenia region from the perspective of the competent institutions (DGASPCs).
