Summary/Abstract: The first issue of 2021 of the Social Work Review aimed to present original articles on the transformations of the field in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease, is a topic of general interest worldwide. This virus changed the daily life of the population, the way of carrying out the activities of public and private institutions, as well as the process of intervention of social workers, having both destabilizing and mobilizing effects on several levels. Through this issue, we propose a clearer understanding of the psychosocial and political consequences caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The topicality of the subject attracted a large number of interested researchers, resulting in the publication of 19 articles written as either single author or in teams. The summary is varied, presenting research conducted mainly in Romania, but also three results of researches from South Africa, Great Britain and Italy were published.
