Summary/Abstract: The main subject of the present analysis is the meaning of the expression {nonsens (Eng. nonsense)}, which refers to an utterance, so to something said by someone (about something), (differing from the word {nonsens} having situational reference). The semantic interpretation suggested in this article refers to lexicographical uses of this expression, especially the one included in {Inny Słownik Języka Polskiego} which I find the most adequate. On the very begining I confront the meaning of units {nonsens} and {absurd}. In order to explain the content of the expression {nonsens} I use the concept of knowledge and the concept of truth, closely related to knowledge. Negation plays the key role here, together with a commentary explaing the rejection of someone’s opinion. The “narrative” intuitions which are the result of this analysis are then translated into natural semantic language. As a result, I present a preliminary version of the explication of the unit {nonsens (to nonsens, że )}.
