A private icon “st. Stylianos the Protector of Children” of Ekaterina T. Ikonomova

Summary/Abstract: Present paper aims to present an icon "St. Stylianos the Protector of Children” from the collection of the Regional Historic Museum in Shumen. The icon is painted by the iconographer Nikola Vasilev from Shumen. It is signed on the back with a handwritten inscription with the name of Ekaterina T. Ikonomova. Based on the analysis of the biographical data about Todor Ikonomov's wife, a hypothesis is formulated that the icon in question was a personal property of Ekaterina T. Ikonomova and was signed by herself. In addition, the paper uses this occasion to promote the personality of Ekaterina Pashmakova (T. Ikonomovа) and to amplify the list of described icons by the important icon painter Nikola Vasilev from Shumen.
