Summary/Abstract: Algerian literature is developing, along with that of many newly independent countries, in a situation that combines hopes and, little by little, disenchantment. The struggles and dramas that the country has been going through for more than seventy years have marked it in many of its works, much like those of Anouar Benmalek and Boualem Sansal.
