Summary/Abstract: This article presents an analysis of the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Tribunal in relation to the principle of respecting the autonomy and mutual independence of the State and churches and other religious organizations. In the first part, the study focuses on the provenance of the principle in question, primarily taking its comparative aspect into account. Then the principle is presented as an element of the relationship between the State and religious organizations in the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Tribunal. The subsequent parts provide an interpretation of this principle and its scope in the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Tribunal. The article ends with a discussion of the most important conclusions.
