Summary/Abstract: Assistance support is of paramount importance for the opportunities of people with disabilities who have difficulties in self-care to lead a dignified and independent life. There are various normative acts, programs and projects in Bulgaria, which regulate the assistance support in 2020. The report examines the current legislation, with the basic requirements for inclusion of candidates for users and personal assistants, as well as the responsible institutions for implementing the procedures. The aim is to be identified the weaknesses and proposal to be made for improving the access to this type of support for people with disabilities and to strengthen the control over the quality of care provided and the funds paid by the state.
