Summary/Abstract: The tangible and intangible cultural heritage of each state is of inestimable value for its population, but also for humanity in general. Heritage needs to be better protected, preserved for future generations, and its value presented and promoted. By preserving and presenting heritage, cultural, national or some other identity can be expressed or confirmed. Cultural heritage, closely related to tourism, has become a very popular source of income. It is very important to find adequate ways to preserve and promote cultural heritage. The municipality of Zenica, as a city in the center of BiH (and even Europe) has a huge, both economic and heritage potential. Long and rich history, many significant events from the past, and contemporary opportunities for interpreting cultural heritage, offer opportunities to improve the overall state of tourism in Zenica. Taking into account the examples and practices of other cities - countries, there are opportunities to introduce a series of activities, content and changes, which will "refresh" the tourist offer of the city, and preserve the cultural heritage from oblivion. The organization of educational visits to Vranduk, the opening of a tourist info bureau, the improvement of the offer of local cultural institutions, the production of authentic products in the first local souvenir shop, are just some of the visions - the idea of the work. Also, these ideas open up opportunities for employment of young and ambitious professionals in this field, which would certainly prevent their mass departure from Zenica. Certainly, the basic goal of the paper is to emphasize the importance and ways of preserving the cultural heritage in Zenica, because, by highlighting it in public, opportunities for tourism will be very open.
