Summary/Abstract: In recent years, the population of children and adolescents with chronic diseases has increased, and the results of research clearly show that child’s disease is a factor that significantly affects its functioning as a student. This puts teachers in the face of new tasks that require knowledge about chronic diseases. The article presents the results of own research, which illustrate the level of knowledge of physical education teachers necessary to work with children with chronic diseases. The study was conducted among 172 physical education teachers, using the authors’ questionnaire. The obtained results indicate that despite the fact that most teachers know the most common symptoms of particular diseases (especially in relation to asthma and diabetes); they have many fears about the participation of a child with a chronic disease in their classes.
