Summary/Abstract: This study aims to bring to attention the link between two branches of law, intellectual property law and sports law. A complex issue, two areas that apparently have no obvious connection, but which in reality, together, make an important contribution to human development and economic well being, the study is intended to be a first article in a series of articles dedicated to the two. A topic approached from the perspective of sports law, the article lists its links with other branches of law and highlights the link with intellectual property law, showing how the latter protects and helps capitalize on performance in sports, but also the development of related sports industries. Another angle of approach of the topic is given by the similarities between the two branches of law, meaning that the authors focus on this first article and point out how to organize the associative structures in the two areas, as well as some aspects regarding alternative dispute resolutions, following that in future articles of the series dedicated to the two to consider other issues.
