Summary/Abstract: Resilience is an important resource in times of dangerous and adverse life experiences. Resilience is the ability to positively adapt to negative changes in the environment and to cope with difficulties, risk and trauma. A person’s resilience level is influenced by individual characteristics but also by familial and community factors. In times of adversity and significant social and economic uncertainty, it is important to foster resilience development, especially in children. Schools have the role of providing students with the necessary skills to thrive in society, and that includes the abilities to adapt to personal, social and economic problematic and difficult situations. In this paper, we aim at presenting means that could help teachers promote resilience in children and help them manage challenging and potentially traumatic situations.
